it’s weird how, now that i dont call you mine, i question the fact that i love you.
even though its something not questionable.

today i was in line and this lady in front of me bought a pack of marlboro mediums, just like you. she wore gray levis that were pulled a little too high and frayed at the bottoms accompanied by slip on shoes. you wore the exact same thing. her hair was thin and unbrushed, but she wore expensive looking, dangly earrings to make herself feel better about her outfit. you wore the black pearl earrings he gave you because it made you remember someone bought you nice things. she dug around in her purse for change to buy them but came up ten cents short. you used to regularly apologize to the cashier for your “black hole” of a purse and take an extra two minutes searching for the exact change. if it was a guy cashier, he would laugh and be quite alright joking with you for the time it took because you were genuinely beautiful even under your thrift store clothing. i was so close to giving her ten cents and the extra five dollars in my pocket, but the fact that she was just like you made me hesitate until she was through the sliding doors.
